Learn how to organize your content more effectively by setting up nested folders and moving media files into folders you have created.
Folders
At the top of every project is a root folder, this is denoted as "/". All projects start with this initial root folder and it cannot be edited.
When Media is in a folder, you can now view this media group in the main gallery view, and additional views provided you have the correct permissions, such as the Observations Gallery view. The observations listed will be scoped to the folder you have selected.
Click the "+ New Folder" link at any level of your project's hierarchy to make a new folder. Folders only require a name, and a destination. By default the selected destination is chosen, but it can be edited by changing the selected folder path.
Folders inherit the permissions of a given project. Each user has a permission scope, or role that will apply throughout that entire project.
Adding Media to Folders
Media can be uploaded directly to a folder, or moved there after the fact by users with Editor or Admin roles. Select media from the gallery and choose the option to "Move files" this will change where the media can be viewed within the project.
Editing or Removing Folders
A folder can be renamed or removed by an Editor or Admin (except for the root folder.) Hovering over the folder name will show the edit icon. Clicking the edit icon will show the options to edit the name or remove the folder.
